Festival Artist – Geraldine Gustavino
Born in Gibraltar, Geraldine began her artistic journey at a very early stage, and was recognised as the best artist under 25 in her hometown in 1989, quickly gaining attention as a young talent. In 1990, she attended the Kent Institute of Art and Design, Canterbury completing a foundation course in art and design. Soon after she relocated to Perth, Australia, and took a hiatus from her art career to focus on her young family, returning to painting in 2015 with her first joint exhibition, Picturesque. This was followed by her solo exhibition, Colour Medley, showcasing her vibrant, expressive style.
Geraldine has exhibited widely and has won several accolades, including the Gibraltar May Festival Artist award, third prize in the Armadale Society of Artist Awards, and People’s Choice Award numerous times.
Today, she shares her expertise through workshops, classes, and paint-and-sip events. She teaches acrylics with the Armadale Art Society and at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre. Her art is characterised by free, expressive brushstrokes, inviting viewers to explore deeper connections with the subjects and surrounding life.
“I love painting without restrictions, letting go, and allowing my brushstrokes to breathe. But most importantly, I cherish inspiring others to create.”
