5 May – An Evening of John Denver with Wayne Perry and Ian Simpson

Join Wayne Perry & Ian Simpson as they take you on a magical musical journey of the music of John Denver. Starting from the first breakthrough hit of 1969, Leaving on a Jet Plane, weaving our way through the hits, Country Roads, Back Home Again, Sunshine on My Shoulders, and delving into the classics of Fly Away, I’m Sorry, Grandmas Feather Bed &, of course, Calypso & many more. Wayne Perry (vocals, 6 and 12 string acoustic guitar): A singer/songwriter who has travelled extensively through Australia and overseas, Wayne grew up playing John’s songs as part of his song writing journey. A fine finger style guitarist, Wayne’s tenor vocals are well suited to the tender ballads and soaring high ranges of John Denver’s repertoire.

Ian will accompany Wayne with tasteful backing vocals, dobro guitar and blistering banjo.
