Roleystone Theatre Inc. are proud to present our first production back in the City of Armadale’s renovated Roleystone Theatre building after a six year absence. In May 2024 we present the golden age musical ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’, originally developed in 1962 by Frank Loesser (best known for Guys and Dolls), based on the book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert.

Big business means big laughs in this delightfully clever lampoon of life on the corporate ladder. A tune-filled comic gem that took Broadway by storm, winning both the Tony Award for Best Musical and a Pullitzer Prize, ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ boasts an exhilirating score by Frank Loesser.

A satire of big business and all it holds sacred, ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a little handbook called How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive. Tackling such familiar dangers as the office party, backstabbing co-workers, caffeine addiction and, of course, true love!

An irreverent and tuneful romp, jam-packed with sly, swift and sharp jabs to the funny bone. ‘How to Succeed Without Really Trying’ is one not to miss. The season opens on the last two weekends of the Armadale Arts Festival, and then continues for another two weekends afterwards (10 performances in total).

Director – Peter Carr
Musical Director – Krispin Maesalu
Choreographers – Chloe Palliser and Cortni Cooper
