Mosaic Bee Bath for Your Garden

6 May 2023 at 9.30 am - 20 May 2023 at 12.30 pm

Saturdays 6, 13 & 20 May, 9.30 AM – 12.30 PM

The Lark Art Classes, similarly to the token meaning of the bird, will aim to install a change of mood and therefore represent a new beginning for its participants. Our lark has feathers of a beautiful colbalt blue; unlike the everyday, factual brown. Cobalt actualises creative pursuits, removes self limiting blocks, and stimulates the imagination. Cobalt lifts the mood, and during contemplation helps to maintain a state of grace and inner peace.

The Larks provide a series of Visual Arts workshops for adults who are ready to discover something wonderful (again) about themselves. Creative learning does that. ‘Begin again’ learning techniques in drawing, painting, textiles, mixed media and ceramics are other areas the group has explored. The lessons are organised by a highly experienced art educator Julie Fearns-Pheasant and run by a team of well established, professional artists.

Past participants of our classes have enjoyed working in the beautiful gallery environment with a supportive, creative and committed team. We aim to offer programs teaching fundamental art making, learning new techniques, in a gentle, positive and non threatening environment. The relaxed nature of the groups and small class sizes allow participants to experience the positive impact of creative ‘flow’, hopefully putting aside daily worries and anxieties by achieving something artistic and different.

This series of three classes focuses on students creating a Mosiac Bee Bath. Over three weeks we will teach participants all aspects of mosaics, instruction about the use of colour and health and safety aspects of working with these materials. Sustainability and looking after nature is highlighted and each participant will take home a completed bath for their garden. Creativity expands belonging, community and would assist in improving feelings of accomplishment and a sense of inclusion. Our classes are unashamedly geared towards the individual who may find themselves in a transitional life stage they were not expecting. Empty nesters, unemployed, newly retired or single, or just needing something new to make life wonderful.

Larks have inspired the hands and minds of the world’s most talented poets and painters. These birds are symbolic of the coming dawn, the rise in opportunity, and good fortune. Larks also symbolise Renewal; they represent the imminent arrival of something wonderful’.

Let the Lark Art Class be your arrival.
