Murray Hall: Unlikely Barons

11 May 2023 at 2.00 pm - 3.30 pm

Free

Murray Hall is the local author of Walk A War In My Shoes and Unlikely Barons. He will take you on a twofold journey full of twists and turns.

His first book, Walk A War In My Shoes was inspired following the finding of 100 year old photo’s and letters from his great-uncle written during WW1. It took five years of research and travel to Belgium and France twice to ensure that the story was historically correct and that respect of our ANZAC’s is preserved before it was published. A fascinating story of a young Australian soldier.

His second book, Unlikely Barons, is a work of fiction based on a true story of Broome in the ‘90s when the town was considered the Wild West. Money could be made, fortunes won, and lives lost depending on who you spoke to, and how you spoke to them. The two main characters, Kat and Dodger only wanted to make a dollar. How they went about it, their loves, lives, and bad behaviour form the backbone of the story. Unlikely Barons is Kat’s story.
