Unleash your creativity while reducing the amount of clothing going to landfill!
Visible mending is a fun and creative way of repairing clothes, where the mended areas are intentionally highlighted in a statement of individuality and creativity. Whether you’re new to stitching, or a more experienced stitcher, this mending artform will have you hooked!
In this interactive session, your experienced teacher will guide you through visible mending techniques, which you can apply to your textiles or garments that require mending.
Included:
- All workshop materials (including Sashiko needle and thread)
- Visible mending notes
- Ideas and inspiration from not only your facilitator, Elise, but from the people sitting in the room with you – you’ll find this part invaluable!
What to bring:
- Garments (jeans, shirts, jumpers, cardigans, socks) or home textiles (tea towel or tablecloth) that have rips or holes that need repairing
- Embellishments (buttons, patches, fabrics etc) that are meaningful to you – not a requirement
- Your imagination and enthusiasm!
Note: light refreshments available, but please bring your refillable water bottle with you.
