An Evening of John Denver showcases the essence of a live music tonic. For so many of us who grew up hearing the greatest acoustic artists of the seventies, to hear these hit songs live, in the exact musical instrumentation of the recordings, this performance is set to be an uplifting night to remember.
In an era when popular music absorbed the connection of the common person, and utilised the beauty of strings to lift music to poetic heights, John Denver personified the art of singer-songwriting. Wayne Perry eloquently performs the greatest of John Denver’s songs and is joined by banjo legend Ian Simpson in a unique collaboration with musical director and music arranger, Rachel John. The Classic Sounds Orchestra delivers the melting string parts of John Denver’s greatest recordings and presents to you, An Evening of John Denver.
The painstaking task of creating string parts makes this show exceptionally unique and it has never been done on the west coast. Wayne Perry is committed to being the best, musically, that he can be. He sets high standards for himself to continually improve as a versatile performer. Supported by legendary musician Ian Simpson, Wayne has successfully piloted An “Evening of John Denver” at Perth venues and is now embarking on this exciting collaboration with the Classic Sounds Orchestra.
